10 feared killed after Bus fall in Gorge in J&K's Reasi, terror attack suspended

 A tragic incident unfolded in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district as a bus carrying pilgrims plunged into a gorge, resulting in multiple casualties and injuries. The harrowing accident occurred as the bus, transporting pilgrims to a sacred site, lost control on a treacherous mountain road, sending shockwaves through the region.

Reports indicate that the bus, carrying a group of pilgrims on a spiritual journey, veered off the road and tumbled into a deep gorge, trapping passengers under the wreckage. The remote location of the accident site posed significant challenges for rescue teams, who raced against time to extricate survivors and provide urgent medical assistance.

As news of the tragic incident spread, authorities mobilized a large-scale rescue operation, deploying personnel and equipment to the scene. Helicopters were also deployed to airlift critically injured passengers to nearby hospitals for emergency treatment, while ground teams worked tirelessly to search for survivors amid the debris.

The accident in Reasi serves as a sobering reminder of the dangers posed by mountainous terrain and precarious road conditions, particularly during pilgrimage season when large numbers of devotees travel to sacred sites. The incident took place days after 22 pilgrims including nine women and two children lost their lives and 57 were injured after a bus from UP's Hathras spun off a road and fell into a deep gorge in Akhnoor. "Anguished by the loss of lives due to a bus mishap in Akhnoor. My thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover soon. Rs. 2 lakh would be given to the next of kin of each deceased due to the bus mishap. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000," Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office said in a post.
