Avinash Sable is focused on achieving his peak performance ahead of the Paris Olympics.

Sable, the Commonwealth Games silver medallist and India’s leading steeplechaser, dominated the men’s 3000m steeplechase finals at the Interstate meet in Panchkula with a commanding performance. Clocking 8:31.75s, he finished nearly 15 seconds ahead of the runner-up, Sumit Kumar, reaffirming his prowess and readiness for the Paris Olympics.

"This competition felt like practice to me. I had trained harder just last week, so I gave it about 70 percent effort," remarked Sable shortly after crossing the finish line. Despite his impressive display, Sable remains grounded and focused on his goal of securing a podium finish in Paris. His dedication to training and focus on Olympic preparation have been evident since he became the first Indian track and field athlete to qualify for the Paris Games in July last year.

Sable's achievements speak volumes: he holds the national record nine times over, has secured a memorable CWG silver, and boasts multiple medals at the Asian level. Known for his humility and strong work ethic, Sable remains unwavering in his pursuit of excellence.
